Promoting your kinesiology business with demonstrations |
|
I have always felt fortunate that one of the big benefits of muscle testing is that it is so easy to demonstrate to people. I have found doing free demos a great way to promote my services. It’s generally a fun way to spend an afternoon or evening, it costs very little, and the benefits are huge. I like doing interactive demos where I don’t have an audience so much as I have participants. I have found that this method is more fun for everyone (myself included) and it is more informative to the participants because they get to join in. They get a first hand experience of muscle testing. You can have a demo in your office, your waiting room, a participant’s home, a rented hall or any number of places. Health food stores are often more than happy to host such an event, especially if you show them how valuable these tools are in selecting the best supplements or foods for a person. Getting people to attend one of your demos can be achieved many different ways also. You may have a client who would love to be able to show her friends and family members what happens when she has a session with you. You may have friends who would be happy to invite some people over for you. Notices in your office and flyers up on bulletin boards work well, as does listing your event on as many websites as you can. The demonstration itself can vary greatly depending on who your audience is and your personal preferences. Show them your strong points. Show them the stuff that really gets you excited. If you love doing Touch for Health, show them how amazing it is that we can switch muscles on and off. You could teach them how to switch off anterior deltoid with the spindle cell technique. This is a great exercise to get your participants working in pairs. You can get your participants to sit in a chair and test their own quadriceps muscle, and then you can use any of your tools to allow them to feel a change in the muscle function. Whether you work with foods, magnets, thoughts, or whatever, this allows your participants to experience that wow factor that we have all had with muscle testing. This first-hand experience is a great way to introduce a little bit of what you offer. You can then explain the range of things that muscle testing can be used for and what your specialty areas are. Depending on the length of your demo, you could then have one person come up from the audience and you could demonstrate some of your techniques on that person. I have found that this part of the demo has much more impact if I have first involved everyone on some hands-on muscle testing.
